Whatever happened to everybody’s “Inside Voice?”
Posted by LizfromFla
I don’t care whether it’s at a restaurant, a movie or a doctor’s waiting room, people are talking LOUD. Why do you want everybody to know about your life? Some of us don’t care. No, really. WE DON’T.
" Why don't you just stop listening? you can't change other people, especially when you don't know them."

"Not trying to sound negative here, but yes, I realize that some ppl lack in the consideration dept, buttt truth is, you kinda just gotta try to not worry about everyone else. What you deem as "socially acceptable behavior" might not necessarily be what someone else believes. So, in reality, the only control you have in situations like that is to just practice what you feel is considerable and just try to ignore everyone else. If it's bothering you, it's because you're letting it. I know that is totally easier said than done, but I do believe it holds some truth."

"People are just too loud, I agree. Usually they are rude people in general. Told some to keep it down and I got the finger several times. Oh well."

"know what u mean. As a European, I can't BELIEVE how LOUD Americans are. It's like their private conversations are public speeches. I've tried going up to them with my index finger to my mouth but they don't care. I think the only answer is for the managers of wherever they r2 say something to them"

"It's really ironic that you post this video, where I have to turn the volume up a teeny bit to hear your inside voice, and then the LOUDMOUTH ASSHOLE OWNER OF THIS WEBSITE comes on and goes "WHAT ABOUT YOU?!" with this big ecstatic fucking grin on face. Argh.
And he was inside."

"You have a nice speaking voice with good inflections, although you overdo the head movements and wide-eyed facial expressions a bit. You are absolutely right about loud voices. Some people, both male and female, have naturally resonant voices that "carry". It's an advantage if they're teachers, executives, football coaches, or advisers who deal with elderly hard-of-hearing people. To them, their voice volume sounds normal. Maybe they grew up in large families and had to talk loudly in order to get any attention! Unfortunately there isn't too much you can do, except stare fixedly at them as if they're performing in a play. If you're lucky, that will make them self-conscious and embarrass them into shutting up."

"I completely agree. Whatever happened to whispering? Even on a plane I'll turn my back to the window and whisper on my cell so I don't become one of those "Mobile Assholes" that actually believes their life is interesting to others. People of the world: Shut up! or at least tone it down!"

"I think you should never turn to someone and say, "Inside voice." But I do agree that people are way, way too loud, especially about personal problems. I have no idea what happened to people believing in whispers, especially in movie theaters when the people behind me talk at a normal volume! Ugh! And, the worst part is, suggest someone be quiet and they give you a WTF? kind of look."
