How do I get a seat on the train without being a bitch?

I live in Jersey and have to take the trains all the time. It’s so hard to get a seat, especially going to or from work. I see people being a bitch all the time and it works—they get a seat. But I can’t do it. Anybody got seat-snatching tips?
