How can I turn a friend into something more?

Posted by sirbgbMale_sign

There's only one thing worse than being stuck in the Twilight Zone, and that's being stuck in the Friend Zone. A place between friendship and dating. That's my dilemma. I like this female friend that I have had for a while, but she only likes me as a friend. How can I get her to change her mind?

"the advice below seems sound. I would only add that you can improve your chances by being 1) interesting, 2) interested in her, and 3) a bit mysterious - be creative and don't fake it. good luck."

"STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FROM A FEMALE: 1. Spend time with her alone 2. Ask her to go to lunch (lunch is less scary and this step may have to be repeated) 3. As her to come over and watch a movie (don't talk! Awkward silences are a dead giveaway that a guy is into you) 4. Take a moment to see where this is going. Is she pulling away? Getting more distant? Then let it drop. She's senced that you are wanting more and is not having any of that! Go back to group hangouts. 5. IF she is giving you good 'signs' of smiling and laughing then move into the "awkward" phase at full force. 6. Touch her "accidentally" 7. Keep good eye contact 8. Have dinner 9. Then, and only then, come out and say that you would like to date her and see where it goes. If it's just not there, then fine. But you have to know."

"I think both with guys or girls, there's a fine difference between he/she is instantly attracted to you, most likely physically, and wanted to express what they think of you at the very beginning OR the other story - he/she don't mind having sex with you which means, no instant attraction there sorry, but he/she would rather enjoy the company of you rather being total boring single, and having you as a company would consist the chance of having sex and do whatever with you, but noting is defined there, they would regard you as a 'friend' until they make up their mind either take you in as bf or gf because maybe you are GOOD in bed, and if not, you will eventually find out when they fix their eyes on someone they are instantly attracted to and therefore dumps you. try to stay away from the second type of attraction as it is abusive in nature, even though everybody swings between the 1st or 2nd type attraction at any point of their life. you either abuse or be abused. you can still chose"

" one more story... the guy i almost got with before my husband... long time friend... used to beat him up in elementary school. thought i'd never like him though i thought he was cute. as we got older we'd get into conversations that were several hours long all the time and i started to see him in a different way. he made an attempt but at the wrong moment. we've been alone in your room talking from 11pm to 4am and you ask to kiss me now? i didn't want it to lead to an early mess so i told him to take a raincheck but i guess he felt too scared. he totally could have been my man if he took me out and made another move. it's all about timing too."

" depends. sometimes you can change her mind... i've had a few guy friends that i would have never thought of that way but then they changed their look or just stepped up their game altogether and i caught them in a new light and all of a sudden had a little crush. you have to master the art of luring someone in. take her out to have fun and really really show her a good time (and really look your best when doing so) she may change her mind. i couldn't stand my husband when i met him, i enjoyed him as a friend but he wasn't even the type i'd look at but he worked so hard at trying to get me to have a great time with him and after a while i was thinking to myself "i thought you didn't like him why is he on your mind?" then i without even noticing i was doing it started to get all cute before he came around and dropping hints that it was ok to make a move.
